Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk, has confirmed that the Cybercab is now in production, adhering to the original timeline for the autonomous vehicle. A video released on the social media platform X provided a glimpse into the Cybercab's interior, showcasing its minimalist design with a large central screen and no visible steering wheel or pedals, highlighting its fully driverless nature.

Amidst these developments, Musk addressed critical aspects of Tesla's autonomous driving technology. He clarified that vehicles equipped with the Hardware 3 (HW3) chipset would not be capable of achieving Unsupervised Full Self-Driving (FSD). However, he indicated that Tesla might offer hardware upgrades, including chip and camera replacements, for HW3 vehicles, potentially requiring the establishment of localized upgrade facilities. This strategic pivot, alongside the decision to cease production of the premium Model S and Model X, has drawn sharp criticism from investors like Ross Gerber, who lauded the Model S as an exemplary electric vehicle, questioning the company's shift towards humanoid robots.

The company's focus appears to be broadening, with Musk also announcing that the Optimus V3 humanoid robot is slated for production in Fremont, California, with a potential unveiling closer to its July-August production schedule. He also accused competitors of replicating Tesla's technological advancements. Financially, Benzinga Edge Rankings note Tesla's strong momentum but highlight concerns regarding its value and long-term price trends. On Friday, pre-market trading saw Tesla's stock (TSLA) decline by 2.89% to $376.30.

This period of innovation and strategic shifts at Tesla demonstrates the company's relentless pursuit of advanced technology and future mobility solutions. While facing market fluctuations and investor scrutiny, Tesla's commitment to pushing the boundaries of autonomous driving and robotics signals a transformative vision for transportation and technology, inspiring continued progress and adaptation in the industry.
