Copenhagen Fashion Week has once again been a crucible for evolving footwear trends. While previous seasons highlighted a clear distinction between utilitarian rubber thongs and elegant kitten-heeled sandals, this year witnessed a fascinating integration of these styles. Studio Constance, in collaboration with Havaianas, premiered a new line of rubber kitten heels as part of its Spring 2027 collection, effectively blurring the lines between casual and high fashion.

During a captivating presentation held in a disused brutalist water tower, models showcased designer Rebecca Dovenryd Almberg’s collection, featuring draped skirts, leather jackets, and form-fitting tops. Their attire was complemented by Havaianas's inaugural foray into heeled footwear. The Brazilian brand reinterpreted its classic toe-post design, incorporating toe caps and understated, elliptically shaped asymmetrical heels. These innovative shoes, crafted from rubber, will be offered in versatile shades of black, off-white, and a striking slime green.

Maria Fernanda Albuquerque, Global Vice President of Marketing at Havaianas, emphasized the natural progression of this partnership, stating that the brand's organic acceptance within the fashion community made this collaboration a timely move. She highlighted that the kitten heel introduces a fresh design direction for Havaianas, all while preserving the brand’s inherent ease, authenticity, and Brazilian essence. Given the fashion world's recent inclination towards unique footwear, this novel design from Havaianas appears to be a logical and well-timed evolution, poised to capture a broader audience by merging two distinct fashion sensibilities.

This innovative collection represents a forward-thinking fusion of comfort and sophistication, encouraging individuals to embrace creativity and personal expression in their style choices. It demonstrates how traditional items can be reimagined to meet contemporary demands, fostering a dynamic and inclusive approach to fashion that celebrates both heritage and innovation.
