Kia is making a significant leap in the electric commercial vehicle market with the introduction of its new PV7 van. This versatile model, the second in Kia's Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) series, aims to cater to a broad spectrum of commercial requirements, from logistics and deliveries to various passenger transportation needs. Unveiled at IAA Transportation 2026, the PV7 is designed with a strong focus on adaptability and efficiency, offering an impressive array of configurations and advanced features to meet the demands of modern businesses.
The PV7 stands out with its extensive range of features designed for both utility and user convenience. It offers substantial cargo capacity, accommodating up to 282.5 cubic feet in its High Roof variant, making it suitable for a wide range of goods. For passenger transport, the PV7 can comfortably seat up to 11 individuals, depending on the market and configuration, ensuring flexibility for shuttles, tourism, or large families. Powered by either a 71.5-kWh or a 96.2-kWh battery, the van delivers a competitive electric range of up to 286 miles on the WLTP cycle, supported by an 800-volt architecture for rapid charging. This extensive lineup includes models tailored for cargo transport, passenger services, and specialized applications, ensuring that businesses can find a version that perfectly matches their operational needs. The design prioritizes maximizing interior space and functionality, making it a highly practical solution for a wide array of commercial tasks.
The PV7 is built on Kia's dedicated E-GMP.S platform, featuring a flat floor that significantly enhances interior volume and flexibility. With overall dimensions of 17.6 feet in length, 6.5 feet in width, and 6.5 feet in height, alongside an 11.5-foot wheelbase, the van provides ample space. The Cargo version is available in two- or three-seat layouts, with the Long model offering up to 215.4 cubic feet of cargo volume, expandable to 282.5 cubic feet in the High Roof variant. Payload capacity can reach 2,646 pounds. For passenger transport, the PV7 is designed to carry up to nine people in global markets, and up to eleven in specific Korean configurations, with flexible seating arrangements including removable seats on rails for the seven-seat model. This versatility makes the PV7 ideal for a range of uses, from shuttle services and rental fleets to tourism and large family transportation, supported by features like rear climate controls, USB-C ports, and power-sliding doors.
Advanced Electric Powertrain and Innovative Features

The PV7 is equipped with either a 71.5-kWh or a 96.2-kWh NCM battery pack, powering a front-wheel-drive system that generates up to 268 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque; an all-wheel-drive option is planned for future release. The Long Range Cargo model, with its larger battery, is projected to achieve over 286 miles on the WLTP cycle. Its 800-volt electrical architecture allows for rapid charging, going from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 20 minutes with a 350-kW DC fast charger. A notable innovation is the PV7's dual charging ports: a standard front AC/DC port and an optional rear-side AC port, offering greater flexibility for operators. Additionally, the PV7 features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, enabling it to power external tools and equipment, and a heavy-load driving mode that adjusts vehicle behavior based on cargo weight. Inside, the van includes 12.9-inch and 14.6-inch displays, integrated with the Android Automotive-based Pleos Connect infotainment system, similar to those found in newer Hyundai models.
