The recent beta phase for the eagerly anticipated fighting game, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, encountered a series of technical difficulties on PC, prompting an official response from its development team. Players reported widespread performance problems, such as persistent stuttering and suboptimal optimization, which hampered the overall gaming experience, irrespective of system specifications. Developer Addresses Performance Concerns Ahead of Marvel Tōkon Launch

The beta for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, a new tag fighter, was a brief affair, lasting only three days. During this period, numerous players, particularly those on PC, reported significant performance issues. Notably, the beta's launch coincided with an outage of the PlayStation Network, impacting console players during the initial day. However, PC gamers faced distinct challenges, experiencing considerable stuttering and a general lack of optimization, regardless of their system's power. In an effort to assist affected users, Arc System Works released a six-point guide detailing community-suggested troubleshooting steps, including utilizing the Shader Warm-Up tool, deactivating Frame Generation, and disabling various screen-recording applications. Speculation among some players points to background anti-cheat and PlayStation services, visible in Task Manager, as a potential cause for the performance degradation, despite not consuming excessive resources themselves.

It reached an impressive peak of 33,233 concurrent players on Steam, surpassing the concurrent player counts of other major fighting game betas, including Street Fighter 6 (32,787 concurrent players) in 2023 and Tekken 8 (15,035 concurrent players) later the same year. With the game's full release scheduled for Thursday, August 6, the development team has a limited window of just over a week to implement necessary fixes and address player feedback.
